Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an individualized and effective approach for supporting children with autism and other behavioral challenges. In-home ABA therapy promotes skill development in the child’s natural environment, making it easier for them to learn and apply these skills in daily life.

Our Registered Behavior Technicians offer personalized, one-on-one support for your child right at home. We carefully evaluate your child’s needs to create a tailored treatment plan.

Benefits of home-based therapy:

  • Individualized Support in Real-Time: At home, behavior technicians can address challenges as they occur, creating immediate learning opportunities.

  • Comfort and Reduced Anxiety: Familiar surroundings such as home or school can help children feel at ease, making it easier for them to engage and learn.

  • Improved Generalization of Skills: Natural environments help children to learn daily life skills easier than made-up situations.

  • Flexible Scheduling: In-home therapy sessions can be scheduled to fit your family’s routine.

  • Stronger Parent-therapist Collaboration: At home, parents can receive real-time feedback and strategies to reinforce positive behaviors.

  • Increased Social Opportunities: Outside of the clinic, therapy can incorporate interactions with friends, neighbors, and community activities.

  • Focus on Daily Living Skills: With in-home therapy, self-care tasks like eating, dressing, and brushing teeth can be practiced in the child’s everyday context.

How to prepare for home-based therapy:

Have a dedicated space

The ideal space for home-based ABA therapy should be free from distractions.

Consistency is key, so using the same area for every session could help your child feel more comfortable and secure with each session.

If you are unsure which spac will be the best to meet your child’s needs, your Board Certified Behavior Analyst will work with you to decide which space will best support your child’s learning.

Get the Necessary Tools

Creating a comfortable learning environment with age-appropriate materials is essential for ABA therapy, including a child-sized table and chairs.

Your therapist may use sensory tools, toys, or puzzles, which should be stored away when not in use to keep them engaging and effective during sessions.

Get Involved & Be Available

Caregivers and family members can continue their daily routines during therapy sessions, but a responsible adult must always be present and available to join when needed.

Will Insurance cover ABA?

Thanks to the Utah Autism Insurance Mandate Expanded, Senate Bill 95 is Effective January 1, 2020, individuals of any age will be covered under state-regulated individual and large group plans. The new law removes previously existing age and hour caps for coverage of ASD. This will allow for more access to services for transition-aged youth and adults with autism here in Utah.

We accept most major private insurance plans but encourage you to check with your insurance provider for specific details. Our dedicated insurance specialists are experts in facilitating coverage for your needs. We also offer multiple payment plan options and some limited scholarship assistance.
